For the most part I like the book and I am invested in the series with Sal and Gemma since I have started reading their story from the beginning but sometimes I just can't stand the way the women are treated - Sal and Gemma have an argument, he drags her out of her car back in the house - tells her how it is and when they are done, what is he doing but pulling her panties down etc After that they leave the house and the gardeners and drivers are like "he either beat her or f'd her" once they see Sal and Gemna kiss good bye, they are all like "Yeah, he f'd her! All is right with the world". Essentially, the story is a vampire tale, but Charlee takes that tired genre and crafts a gem of a novel. The first person perspective of Maya is passed onto the reader and you truely get a feel for what it must of been like to be black, and in the south during this turbulent time. Not much.The problems with this products are numerous:He builds a stupid-simple machine using on-board audio and video and the stock Intel CPU cooler with push-pins. I love Steven Saylor's "Gordianus the Finder" novels, historical fiction set in ancient Rome.
